Job Title: People and Culture Advisor
Job Status: Regular Full-Time – One (1) Existing Vacancy
Primary Location: Head Office - 209 Limeridge Rd East Hamilton ON. Hybrid Work Environment Available. The in-person office time is to create meaningful and lasting connections with our members, staff and our HMECU community.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate People & Culture Advisor to join our team.
 
Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice President, People, Culture & Marketing, the People & Culture Advisor plays a key role in delivering People & Culture programs and supporting the employee experience across HMECU.

This role partners with leaders and employees to provide practical Human Resources support and guidance while leading initiatives related to recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, and People systems.

The ideal candidate is curious, proactive, and solutions-oriented. They are comfortable taking initiative, identifying opportunities for improvement, and bringing forward ideas that enhance the employee experience and support organizational goals. Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and Human Resources best practices
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters and coaching leaders
  • HRPA membership and CHRP designation (or working toward designation) considered an asset
  • Experience within financial services or a credit union environment considered an asset
  • Must be bondable
